Comment Policy

Comments on this blog are moderated in my sole discretion. I value reasoned, topical discourse, but try to give commenters the freedom to make their points.  To increase the likelihood your comment will be published, please:

  • Stay on-topic.
  • Be nice – don’t say anything you wouldn’t say in front of your mom or to someone’s face.
  • Focus on ideas instead of on people. No name-calling or ad hominem attacks.
  • Do not type in all caps.
  • Avoid plagiarism — cite to sources that you quote.
  • Spend more time justifying your own views than making fun of the views of others.
  • If the blog author demands that a thread remain focused on or avoid a particular issue, follow the instructions.

Thanks!

Violators are subject to not being published, editing, or disemvowelment as punishment in my sole unfettered discretion.

In addition, from time to time, I may deny or edit a comment, without explanation, due to a duty I owe to a client or because of an ethical rule applicable to attorneys. While I want to make this forum a place for the free exchange of ideas, my professional duties come first because of the oath I swore when I became a member of the bar.  Thank you for understanding.
