New Supervised Visitation Program for Children
by Kemp Brinson
Children’s Home Society, a local social service provider for children, has created a new program to allow supervised visits between children and their parents. There used to be a similar program at the courthouse, but it was discontinued. Supervised visits (necessary when a parent has been accused of abuse or neglect) are often difficult to arrange and two of the biggest problems are finding an appropriate third party supervisor and a good neutral location. This program addresses these issues and is a much needed service. Kudos to Children’s Home Society, Heartland for Children, and DCF.
