Interesting Editorial Re Death Warrant for Polk Felon

Read it in the Tampa Tribune.  At issue is a man sentenced to death for the murder of a Polk Sheriff’s deputy. The death warrant was signed shortly after Grady Judd started an online petition to ask the governor to sign it. Should the death penalty process be that political?
